FAFSA Deadline this Friday, March 1st

The due date to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is approaching fast.  The priority filing deadline for FAFSA is this Friday, March 1st.  All students who are planning to on going to college are encouraged to apply.  According to Forbes, there is 44 million borrowers who collectively owe $1.5 trillion.  There is $150 Billion in financial aid available this year.  This comes in the form of grants, work-study, and federal student loans.

Without the help of financial aid, many students would not be able to afford college, let alone be successful while attending.  Financial aid’s main goal is to reduce the financial burden tuition may cause current and future college students.  College is academically stressful as it is, but when students must deal with the financial burdens that are an inherent part of our current education system, the stress is compounded greatly.  The less time and energy students focus on financial obligations, the more they can focus on academics.  Filling out the FAFSA application is often the first step in achieving a less financially burdensome academic career.
